The Bucs were dominate in a week one victory

The Bucs came out of the gates hot and took care of business by beating the brakes off of the Commanders 37-20. It was a game that Tampa Bay had control of from start to finish and the offense was the talk of the town after this one.

The Bucs won their season opener for the fourth straight season and in convincing fashion.

Baker took Washington to the Bakery

Baker Mayfield was terrific on Sunday, having only six incompletions while tossing four touchdowns. On a day where many offenses around the league struggled, Mayfield had Tampa Bay in full rhythm. A great start for Mayfield in a new offense.

We will see if Baker can keep this up for the entire of the season, but it was a great start to the 2024 campaign.

Mike Evans: Still Elite

It’s not like this was an actual discussion or anything but yeah, that Mike Evans guy is still pretty good. He made it three straight years scoring in the season opener with an amazing grab.

Evans would add another touchdown later in the game as he continues to be fantastic for Tampa Bay. Year 11 and the future hall of famer is not showing any signs of slowing down. He is going for his 11th straight 1,000 yard season and from the looks of it, he should have no problem achieving that yet again.

The Rook gets in on the fun

Jalen McMillan was sooo close to his first career NFL touchdown early in the game but the pass went right off his fingertips. Well he got another opportunity later in the contest and this time he made the most of it. Which also just so happened to be his first NFL catch.

One catch, one touchdown. Pretty good efficiency if you ask me. After a terrific training camp and preseason, it’s nice to see the rookie make an immediate impact. We’ll see if he gets even more involved in the offense as the season goes on.

There were a few Bucs that got banged up including Bryce Hall who may be out for the season, Zyon McCollum who left the game with a concussion and even Antoine Winfield Jr who left the stadium in a walking boot. Let’s hope Tampa’s defense can get healthy ahead of a big time matchup in Detroit against the Lions. For now though, 1-0 is 1-0.
