The veteran receiver hasn’t seen the field since Week 7.

The Tampa Bay Bucs will be traveling to New York this week to take on the Giants. At 4-6, the Bucs can’t risk dropping another game especially against New York and the way they’ve played as of late it’s certainly a possibility.

But they could be getting some help this week to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Veteran wide receiver Mike Evans was practicing in limited fashion Wednesday, which was a positive sign as he has been out with a hamstring injury since Week 7’s Monday night debacle at home. Head coach Todd Bowles told the media Wednesday that that Evans was “trending” in the direction of playing in New York this week.

This will undoubtedly improve the Bucs chances Sunday against the Giants. But with football being the ultimate team sport, there are others in crucial positions that the Bucs are still waiting to see if they’ll be able to go.

Left tackle Tristan Wirfs and cornerback Zyon McCollum appear to be game-time decisions while other starting cornerback Jamel Dean could be ready to go pending how he performs in practice this week.

But having Evans back will be something Tampa Bay has truly missed offensively. Although the offense has performed decently during his absence, Evans brings another element to the offense that opponents have no choice but to account for.
