In Round 2 of the NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Bucs selected Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison with the 53rd overall pick. Morrison, a standout defender, addresses the Bucs’ need if a strong corner to complement young talents like Zyon McCollum and Tykee Smith.

During his three-year career at Notre Dame, Morrison recorded 78 tackles, 12 interceptions, and 23 pass breakups, with a 45% completion rate allowed and a 44.1 passer rating against. His 2022 freshman season was electric, snagging six interceptions, including a pick-six against Clemson.

Morrison is a scheme-versatile corner with elite instincts and ball skills. His quick-twitch athleticism, fluid hips, and disciplined technique shine in man and zone coverage. Despite a 2024 hip injury, his recovery outlook is as strong, projecting him as a high-end CB2 with CB1 potential.

Tampa Bay will continue to lean heavily on Zyon McCollum and Jamel Dean as the Bucs hope Tykee Smith continues to develop now alongside Morrison.
