A couple of depth moves with potentially significant implications.

The Bucs made a few depth additions Tuesday that could signal potentially significant roster changes.

Notably, the team plans to sign former Saints and Broncos receiver Marquez Callaway to the practice squad, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Callaway, 26, has recorded 83 catches for 1,069 yards and 7 touchdowns in 45 games played across four seasons (17 starts), though he recorded no statistics in just 3 games played last year for New Orleans. The 6-foot-2 receiver arguably produced his greatest outing as a pro against Tampa Bay in 2021 when he caught 6 passes for 112 yards in 9-0 victory.

Callaway adds to a depth chart that has needed to shuffle a lot due to injuries to Jalen McMillan, Trey Palmer, Cody Thompson, and now quite possible Mike Evans, who pulled up lame against the Saints on Sunday and saw few snaps in the second half of a blowout. Evans is notoriously tough to keep off the field, but his hamstring / leg ailment bears monitoring in the practice days ahead of their Monday night tilt with the Baltimore Ravens.

Similarly foreboding, the Bucs signed Keenan Isaac to the active roster from the practice squad. Isaac played well for the Bucs in the preseason before a brief sojourn with the Carolina Panthers. He now comes up to provide depth in place of Jamel Dean, who was immediately ruled out shortly after suffering a hamstring injury against New Orleans. Undrafted free agent Tyrek Funderburk stepped into Dean’s place and held up well, and he’ll likely get the start Monday, but Isaac provides another option with experience in the system.

To replace Isaac on the practice squad, the team plans to sign Dallis Flowers, per Fox Sports’ Greg Auman.
