Tampa Bay’s young defensive tackle popped up on the report Friday.

Leave it to the Bucs to provide its fan base with some drama and uncertainty around one of its big name players ahead of their season opener Sunday.

The Bucs released their injury report heading into Sunday’s game against Washington. On it, a surprise name appeared after not being on it all week. Second-year defensive tackle Calijah Kancey was listed on the report with a calf injury and was limited during Friday’s practice. He is officially listed as questionable on Sunday. No word on if this is the same calf that he injured last season.

Tampa Bay will already be thin along the defensive line as lineman Logan Hall (foot) has been ruled out for the game. Wide receiver Trey Palmer is the other Buc listed as questionable on the injury report as he has been dealing with a concussion.

The situation around Kancey is one worth monitoring. Right now that is not much information to go off of, so we may not receive addition information until right before kickoff Sunday, a game where the Bucs are currently favored by 3.5 via FanDuel.
