While only playing in Tampa Bay for five seasons, Barrett made a substantial impact. The 2019 season marked his Bucs’ debut and Barrett burst onto the scene with a bang. His first year in Tampa he totaled 19.5 sacks— setting a new franchise record, originally held by Hall of Famer Warren Sapp. Although Barrett was never quite able to reach those heights again, he would go on to become a stalwart in red and pewter.
After his breakout performance in 2019, the former Denver Bronco, got off to a slow start in 2020— Tallying his first two sacks in week three, against his former team. Barrett would only conclude 2020 with eight sacks all season, however, his worth was proven in the postseason. Tampa’s 2020 playoff run will forever be a notch in Barrett’s belt. Tampa Bay’s defense went through Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and then Patrick Mahomes— making NFL legends look extremely ordinary. The Bucs’ pass-rush was a driving force of disruption. In just the NFC Championship game and Super Bowl alone, Barrett scooped up four sacks.

Following his second championship, Barrett boosted himself back into the realm of double digit sacks. The Bucs started 2021 like they were shot out of a cannon, Barrett and Tampa Bay finished 13-4, but would exit the postseason via a heartbreaking loss in round two.
Over his last two seasons in Tampa Bay, Barrett would sustain an Achilles injury, have to overcome and endure an off-the-field tradegy, and in turn only secured another 7.5 career sacks as a Buccaneer.
Barrett will finish his NFL career with 59 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, two Super Bowl championships, and a lot of memories in a Tampa Bay Bucs’ uniform.
