Baker Mayfield, Tristan Wirfs return to practice Friday for the Bucs

Good news for the Tampa Bay Bucs on Friday as Baker Mayfield and Tristan Wirfs returned to practice, albeit in a limited capacity.

Mayfield, who re-aggravated an ankle injury against the Panthers last week, missed practice Thursday to try and get some extra rest and an extra day for that ankle to improve. On Friday, he was back and looked like he was moving pretty well;

Wirfs, who missed due to illness, was back and appears to be on track to play Monday night. With the flu and other things going around now, it wasn’t a slam dunk that Wirfs would be available but being back as a limited participant is a great sign and likely points to him playing against the Eagles.

K.J. Britt also returned in a limited capacity after missing last week against the Panthers while dealing with a calf injury. The only player to miss on Friday was Chris Godwin who is still dealing with a knee injury but this was his normal rest day.

For the Eagles, there was only one change from the Thursday report – and that was quarterback Jalen Hurts being upgraded to a full participant. Hurts suffered a dislocated middle finger on his throwing hand last week against the Giants and had not thrown since then until Friday’s practice.

The Bucs and Eagles square off at Raymond James Stadium Monday night at 8:00 p.m. with the game broadcast on ESPN, ABC, and ESPN+. Joe Buck and Tory Aikman will be on the call.
