Taking a look at what social media had to say after a wild game
After last week’s heartbreaker against Atlanta, the Bucs needed to bounce back and they did just that in a big way. The Bucs found a way to win a roller coaster of a game in New Orleans to beat the Saints 51-27.
The 51 points are the second most points scored in a single game in franchise history. Let’s see what social media had to say about this NFC south contest that had plenty of fireworks.
Run Bucky, run!
Rookie running back Bucky Irving also bounce back this week. Rachaad White missed this game with an injury so it was Irving’s opportunity to essentially be the team’s starter and he made the most of it. He consistently found open run lanes and made people miss, but it one run in particular that was very impressive.

What a run. Quick shoutout to Baker Mayfield too for getting down field and getting a little blocking in. Irving finished the day with 14 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. Bucky is quickly becoming a real weapon in this offense.
Hello, Sean Tucker
Sean Tucker was a guy who had a lot of hype in the 2023 training camp and preseason, but it never really showed during the season. This time around in training camp, he was mostly overshadowed by Irving and White, but like Irving, Tucker made the most of his opportunities on Sunday.

Not only did Tucker make this play in the passing game for 36 yards, but he actually was the team leader in rushing on the day with 14 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown. The second year back out of Syracuse has earned some more playing time, even when Rachaad White returns.
Liam Coen’s offense is working
So far, it looks like the Bucs and Todd Bowles absolutely nailed the hiring of Liam Coen this offseason. Baker Mayfield has looked comfortable, Chris Godwin looks better than ever and the entire offense is really starting to flow together nicely.
#Bucs offense under OC Liam Coen:
– 594 yards on Sunday (franchise record).
– 172 rushing yards in the 4th quarter (franchise record) without Rachaad White.
– Tied for most points scored in the NFL this season (178).
– Baker Mayfield leads the NFL in TD passes (15).

If this keeps up, the Bucs and the Glazer family will have to find a way to make sure he doesn’t depart for a head coaching job in the offseason. Coen has been a rock star for Tampa Bay so far. Let’s hope the good times keep rolling.
What a wild, wild game
This game, particularly the first half was one wild up and down ride. Tampa Bay got off to a great start, only to have it gone in the what like seemed like just minutes. They then re-grouped and too care of business in the second half. Madness.
At one point it was Bucs 17-0.
Then the Saints outscored the Bucs 27-7, and the score was 27-24 Saints.
Then the Bucs outscored the Saints 27-0, and now it’s 51-27 Bucs.
Normal football game.

Tampa Bay is now 4-2 on the season and did a nice job avoiding going 0-2 in the division. This was a game they simply needed to find a way to win. Now they face a tough four game stretch but this team has proven they can hang with some of the NFL’s best.
